Parzival and the Holy Grail
On the news of the death Gahmurets Herzeloyde out desperately with Parzival back to Waldeinöde Soltane. There, she trains her son in almost paradisiacal innocence and ignorance, and even his first name and surname, he subsequently learns of her cousin Sigune shortly before his first appearance at Arthur's court. Includes explicitly the mother in front of him all the k
nowledge of the world and life outside the forest, especially before preparing for one of the ethical, social and military, he would look worthy a knight and governor. Percival is still seen later in the courtly world in general, it must above all its external features: The narrator repeatedly emphasizes its striking beauty and amazing agility and physical strength and told what impression these benefits on the environment Parzival.
Herzeloydes trying to keep young people against the dangers and temptations of chivalry fails, carefully: When Perceval first random encounter knights can not prevent Herzeloyde it goes on the road to Arthur's court likewise be knights. In the hope that her son would come back to it when a bad enough experience in the world, he dressed with the clothes and equipment of a fool and give him lessons on how final compliance literal in his interaction with the appearance and clothing to deceive naive cartoon caricature of a gallant knight to leave. (For example, she advises him to say hello to all friendly, then it leads to greet each fussy and adds: "I was told my mother").
The poor education leads directly downstream of Parsifal Soltane a whole chain of calamities Parzival without its share due to personal guilt may be already aware at that time. Initially caused the pain of separation from his mother's death, then falls Parzival - inadequate teaching Herzeloydes Minne miss understanding - Jeschute suddenly, the first woman he meets, and steals her jewels. Jeschute This is Percival meeting with the personal disaster that his husband Orilus believe innocence mistreated and exposed as an adulterer social contempt. Finally arrived at Arthur's court kills ither red knight Parzival - a close relative, it turns out later - to come to his armor and horse. Percival means for the theft of weapons he now feels like a knight, detective, he insists, however, wear his colorful underarm continue.
It does on the next leg of his tour to Gurnemanz of Graharz. Gurnemanz asks Parzival in standards of living and chivalrous combat techniques, here Percival learned that polite behavior (recovery ashamed to dress crazy rituals of Christian worship, courtesy "and clean), it gets out of all the requirements of a sovereign and husband to take a position in the world. When Graharz after 14 days of leave, Parsifal is a perfect gentleman in the direction of the Arthurian world. However, he Gurnemanz with the prohibition of asking unnecessary questions, even with a heavy mortgage on the way (see below). Impressed by the beauty and strength and Parzival now completed courteous attitude, Gurnemanz wants nothing more than him with his beautiful daughter Liaze (pronounced batch) to marry and bind as a son-in-itself. But before that, Parzival rides again. Although he promised to come back with gratitude, but he never returns to the court and no longer able Gurnemanz.
Parzival proved to be a knight, as he released the beautiful queen in the city Pelrapeire Condwiramurs the siege by the candidate intrusive, wins the hand of the queen, and thus govern the kingdom. After ordering the kingdom - but, like his father before the birth of his wife - he leaves Condwiramurs to visit his mother, whose death he knows nothing
